Doris Kay Furr Baldwin was born on November 23, 1955, in Wilmington, NC. She entered into rest on December 11, 2009, in Rincon, Georgia at the age of 54 years. Doris went to New Hanover High School in Wilmington, NC. She returned to school later in life and received her GED, followed by continuing her education at Florence Darlington Tech, graduating as Salutatorian and received a CNA nursing license. She worked in the nursing profession in Florence, SC for many years. Doris moved to Rincon, GA in 2007 to be near her daughter and grandchildren. She and Dennis Baldwin were married on October 7, 1995, at Tybee Island, GA. Her hobbies included, dancing, singing, and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Frances Furr and sister, Barbara Davis. Surviving is her husband, Dennis Mark Baldwin of Cascade, Idaho, a daughter, Bridget Poston and her fiancee, Shawn Hammock of Bloomingdale, GA; three grandchildren, Camren, Dylan, and Ethan; along with her siblings, Elizabeth Taylor, Betty Eason, Mildred Eason, Joyce Hansley, Jimmy Furr, and Jerry Furr. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2009, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington, NC. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel with interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
