Doris Marie Meldrum-Fisher age 84 passed away on March 8, 2012. She was born November 8, 1927 in Ethel, Missouri, to Pearl Lincoln and Essie Marie Meldrum. Doris grew up in Ethel until age 9. Her family then moved to Topeka when her father transferred with the US Postal Service. Doris graduated Topeka High School. She married Charles S. Fisher Jr., they later divorced. She later worked as a typist for the legislature and in the insurance industry. Doris is survived by her brother, Max Meldrum of Plano, Texas, and was preceded in death by her sister Bonita Meldrum-Streeter and granddaughter Azure Fisher. Doris is lovingly remembered by her seven children; Michael Fisher (Donna) of San Antonio, TX, Cheryl Cailteux (Cletus) of Auburn, KS, Mark Fisher of Everett, WA, Linda Spencer (Darrell) of Topeka, Charles Fisher III (Janie) of Topeka, Janet Webster of Topeka, Anita Longoria (Ernie) of Coppell, TX, and eight grandchildren, Chad Chandler (Tamara) of Topeka, James and Shannon Fisher of Topeka, Julia and Jennifer Webster of Topeka, Melissa Paisley of Abilene, TX and Kylie and Jerod Longoria of Coppell, TX. Doris will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home with graveside to follow at Auburn Cemetery.
