Mrs. Doris N. (Naugle) George, 80, a resident of Quincy Village and formerly of 3 West Main Street, Waynesboro, died at 6:30 P.M., Wednesday, November 30, 2011, in the nursing home. Mrs. George entered the nursing home in 2010. Born January 22, 1931 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Mary (McCabe) Naugle. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area. Mrs. George graduated from Waynesboro High School with the class of 1948. She and her husband, the late G. William George, were married on July 5, 1952 in Waynesboro. Mr. George died on October 15, 1984. Mrs. George worked for First National Bank of Waynesboro as a teller and later in customer service, retiring at the age of 65. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Waynesboro. She also supported the Waynesboro Hospital Auxiliary and enjoyed attending monthly lunches with her classmates and former bank employees. Mrs. George enjoyed traveling. She is survived by four children, Michael W. George and his wife Marcy of Richmond, VA, Teresa E. Reed and her husband David of Waynesboro, Emily A. Interrante and her husband Fran of Downingtown, PA, and Julia E. Trei and her husband Doug of Waynesboro; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Christopher M. George, who died in 1997. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 5, 2011, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Rev. John Bateman officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Sunday evening, in the funeral home.
