Doris Rice Creekmore, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2011. Doris was born July 30, 1920 and was a lifelong resident of South Norfolk. She was predeceased by her husband, Claud J. Creekmore, and her parents, Robert and Nellie Rice. She is survived by her two sons, Mike Creekmore and Jim Creekmore and wife Annette, all of Chesapeake, VA. Doris is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, James (Bobby) Creekmore of Roanoke, VA, Jeff Creekmore and his wife Mary of Chesapeake, VA, and Chrissy McConnaughy and her fiance Ben of Roanoke, VA. She also leaves four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Ashley Creekmore of Roanoke, VA and Caroline and Benjamin Creekmore of Chesapeake, VA. Doris was a lifelong member of South Norfolk First Presbyterian Church. She was a Past Noble Grand of Rebekah Lodge No. 13 and held various offices in VA 13. She was also a member of Norfolk Auxiliary No. 17 LAPM. She was a Past President of Norfolk No. 17 where she also served as Chaplain. She loved being a part of the Niners Club and The First Senior Citizens Club, both of Chesapeake. Services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 1605 Bainbridge Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23324. Visitation will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. The family thanks the staff at Allzwell for their compassionate care for the past 3 years. Also, thanks to the staff of Medi Home Health and Hospice for their very special care in the last few days.
