Doris Stone Higdon, age 78 of Knoxville - An Angel called home to Heaven Sunday July 25,2010 - slipped away quietly surrounded by her loving family on a beautiful sunny morning. No one loved their family, life and people in general as much as she did. If you met her , you instantly loved her. She will be truly missed and forever loved. Mrs. Higdon thoroughly enjoyed a long career at local television stations WATE and WVLT. She was loved by all who met her and made many life-long friends including countless numbers of the local swimming community which she supported with so much pride. She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Charles Higdon; daughter, Judy; son, Mark; daughter in-law, Leyla; grandchildren, Sterling and Lori Brennan, Cameron Higdon, Kennedy Higdon, Eric Higdon and great-granddaughters, Savannah and Sidney Brennan; siblings, Virginia Tokes, Genevieve Harber, Robert Stone and wife Sheila, as well as various nieces, nephews and cousins; treasured friends, Bonnie and Turan Ozdil, and Bob Brennan.
