Dorothie Lucille Madsen died February 1, at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mrs. Madsen was a 55 year resident of Olde Severna Park and most recently resided at Sunrise Independent Living in Severna Park.
Mrs. Madsen was born December 22, 1914 in Berea, Ohio to the late Max and Elizabeth Ehrbar. She graduated from Berea High School and worked as a secretary for several years before her marriage to Elmer G. Madsen. They were married for 61 years before his death in 2002. Dorothie was a stay-at-home mother and her interest was raising their four children.
Surviving are two sons, Eric Madsen (Jan) of Rohersville and Keith Madsen (Cheryl) of Severna Park; two daughters, Karen Madsen of Annapolis and Mary Gayle Young (Skip) of Sagle, Idaho; grandchildren, Karsten, Shelley, Kevin, Cara, Kristopher, Justin, Jessica and Jay; great grandmother of Jayla and Alyssa. Also surviving is sister, Ruth Gilchrist of Bay Village, Ohio.
Mrs. Madsen was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Services and burial are private. Arrangements by John M. Taylor Funeral Home, Annapolis. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake.
