Mrs. Dorothy A. "Dottie" (Walsh) Colclough, of Westlake Village, California and formerly of Melrose, Massachusetts, passed away with her family at her side on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital, at the age of 68.

Dorothy was born on April 5, 1943, in Cambridge, one of three children of Dorothy (Shannon) Walsh and the late John Walsh. She was raised and educated in Charlestown and Somerville and married John Colclough on June 6, 1970. They settled in Reading before moving to Westlake Village, CA where they have lived for the last 28 years.

Dorothy, who was known by some as "Dottie", others by "Dottie Anne" or "Dora" or even "DW" was an especially warm person. Her many nicknames reflect how she endeared herself to so many with her amiable personality. She loved her family, especially as a loving Nana to her three grandsons, Shane, Ryan and Dylan. An avid reader, she enjoyed being a member of many book and movie clubs. She also loved travelling, exercising, and hiking, but above all else she was an animal lover.

Dottie was the beloved wife of John C. Colclough, II with whom she shared 41 years of marriage. Cherished daughter of Dorothy Walsh of Charlestown and the late John Walsh. Devoted mother of Skye J. Colclough and her husband John Douglas of Westlake Village, CA and Mark J. Colclough of Westlake Village, CA. Dear sister of John "Jack" Walsh of Newbury, and Diane "Dyan" Espindle and her husband David of Martha's Vineyard. Loving grandmother of Shane, Ryan, and Dylan Douglas. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends will honor and celebrate Dorothy's life by gathering for visiting hours on Monday, November 7 from 4-8 PM at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St, Melrose and again on Tuesday morning where her Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10 AM.

On Sunday, November 13 at 3:00 PM, relatives and friends in California will honor and remember Dottie's life by gathering for a Memorial Service at the Westminister Presbytarian Church, 32111 Watergate Rd, Westlake Village, CA.

Gifts in Dorothy's memory may be made to North Shore Feline Rescue, PO Box 1263, Middleton, MA 01949, or a charity of your choice.
