Mrs. Dorothy "Dottie" (Langis) Gendron, 78 years of Lynn, died on Thursday, June 18, 2009 in a Swampscott nursing home after a long illness. She is the wife of the late Robert H. "Bud" Gendron. She was born in Lynn, the daughter of the late Wilfred and Dorothy (Heisler) Langis. She was raised in Revere and Lynn. She was a graduate of Revere High School. She has lived in Swampscott for most of her life. Dot was a homemaker who had worked for the General Electric Company in Lynn for a few years she left to raise her family. Dottie loved crosswords, jigsaw puzzles and reading. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and was a fan of Englebert Humperdink. She was a devoted mother who raised three sons and a devoted and much loved grandmother. She is survived by her three sons and daughters in law, Robert W. "Bud" and Jeanne Gendron of Hampstead, NH, Daniel E and Marianne Gendron of Londonderry, NH, Timothy M. and Colleen Gendron of Swampscott. She is the grandmother of Kristen, Jamie, Daniel, Alyssa, Traci and Talon. She is the sister and sister in law of Bill and Joan Langis of Seabrook, NH, Barbara Berry of Rochester, NH, Beverly and Jerry McCarthy and Jim and Sharon Langis all of Farmington, NH. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 10:00 AM from the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 67 Ocean Street (Rte 1A) Lynn followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, Swampscott at 11:00 AM. Burial in Swampscott Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Monday from 4 :00 to 8:00 PM. Donations may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan Street Suite 102-B, Danvers, MA 01923.
