Dorothy E. McGowan, a resident of Willow Grove passed away Saturday December 31, 2011 at Abington Hospital, at the age of 89. She was the wife of the late John McGowan Sr.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Nathaniel and Elizabeth Hoffecker.
Dorothy is survived by 8 children, Robert, Patricia Benson, Glenn, Lee, Kevin, Colleen Romeo, Dorothy and Sharon Cowell; 19 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Hoffecker; and 3 sisters, Mary Hope Coughlan, Ruthie Warfield and Betty Phayre. She was preceded in death by 2 children, Barbara Jean and John Edward Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to share in Dorothy's Life Celebration Thursday from 3-5 pm at Craft Givnish of Abington, 1801 Old York Rd., where services will be at 5 pm.
