Dorothy Jane Junk, 87, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at St. Anne Home in Fort Wayne. She was the second of the three children of the late Linus and Oleva (Reising) McKenzie. Born in Fort Wayne on April 18, 1922, she was a member of the 1941 Central Catholic graduating class. In 1945 she married Marcellus Junk, who preceded her in death in 2006. Dorothy was a long-time member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, St. Vincent's Rosary Sodality and The Friday Night Gang. She was a homemaker, devoted to her family with an avid interest in arts and crafts. She was also a volunteer for both St. Joseph Hospital and The Dupont Medical Center. Surviving are her children: John L. (Mancharee) Junk of Vienna, VA; William J. (Jan) Junk of Jackson, MI; Kenneth R. (Stacy) Junk of Fort Wayne; Doris J. McElmurry of Brier, WA; Jane M. Shelton of Indianapolis; and David E. Junk and Mark A. (Tina) Junk, both of Fort Wayne. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carol L. Neuhaus and her brothers, George and Paul McKenzie. The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. Psalm 34. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Thursday Feb. 11th. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church 1502 E. Wallen Rd. with calling 1 hr. prior. Additional calling will be from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm Wednesday Feb. 10th at D. O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Funeral Home 1320 E. Dupont Rd. Fort Wayne with Vigil Services at 4:30 pm. Preferred memorials are to the St. Anne Home and interment will be in the St. Vincent's Cemetery.
