Dorothy Lea Tyler, 76, of Springdale, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born August 2, 1935 in Dexter, Kansas to Cyrus and Blanch Leas McGowan.
Dorothy was a Physical Education Teacher for Springdale High School where she served for twenty eight years. She was also a member of the U of A Alumni Association.
Dorothy is survived by one son, Alvin Dale Tyler and wife Jo Ann of Bella Vista; one daughter, Randy Isely and husband Art of Danville, Arkansas; one sister, Velma Finley of Weatherford, Texas; five grandchildren, Jennifer Phomsithi, Randee Gilkey, Matthew Tyler, Alison Wilson and Tracy Tyler and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, February 20, 2012 at 10 am at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Rev. Johnny Harp officiating. Burial will be in Butler Creek Cemetery in Sulphur Springs.
No visitation is planned.
