Dorothy Nell Johnson was born December 2, 1954 in Fort Sill Army Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma to Lelton and Velma J. Brown.
"Nell" accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of the Greater Mount Hebron Baptist Church until she was called home on January 24, 2012.
Nell was a graduate of the 1973 class of South Oak Cliff High School. She was employed for twenty-two years with the United States Postal Service.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two loving sons, Torey Johnson and Jerrell Johnson both of Dallas, Texas; mother, Velma Brown of Dallas, Texas; father, Lelton of Gilmer, Texas; one sister Karen Brown of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jasmine Johnson, Ebony Johnson, Jordan Johnson, NyJasmine Johnson, Jadah Adams, Kameron Karr, and JaNiya Johnson; and a host of other relatives; church family; and numerous friends.
