Dortha Kinder Kinslow, 86, of Caglesville, the widow of Rev. Clyde Kinslow, died Thursday, October 27, 2011, at the Russellville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born October 23, 1925, at Moreland, to James Dewey and Nona Avis Cagle Kinder. She was a math teacher for over twenty years, teaching in Atkins, Russellville and Dover before retiring in 1985, and a faithful pastor's wife. In 1943 and 1944, she and her husband moved to Wichita, Kansas, where they helped make airplanes during World War II.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant brother, James Kinder, a grandson, Brian Steven Richter, and a great-grandson, Colin Locke.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Ann and Tommy Hill of Hector, Kay and Kurt Richter of Russellville, and Bobbye and Sam Austin of Atkins, a sister, Virginia Hays of Atkins, 11 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2011, at the Palmetto Church near Atkins, officiated by the Rev. Sam Austin and the Rev. Lori Austin Smith. Burial will be in the Palmetto Cemetery, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, from 3-5 p.m., at the funeral home.
