Douglas Frederick Rose
August 26, 1962- August 11, 2011
Mr. Rose, 48, of Huntsville died Thursday in Marshall County. Doug was born in Kittery, Maine, on August 26, 1962. He was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from high school in San Antonio, Texas and attended Texas A & M University. He began working for Domino's Pizza in 1983, and worked his way into management in Albuquerque, NM. He has worked with the Domino's organization off and on for 28 years. After moving to Huntsville, he became a personal trainer and worked at Family Fitness, and then became a licensed massage therapist. He owned Massage by Doug. He was an avid golfer and fisherman and enjoyed being in the outdoors.
He is survived by his parents, Col. Justus F. and Marilyn B. Rose of Ocala, Florida; his brother, Gregory Scott Rose; his nephews, Michael Rose and Chris Rose; his special love, Wendy Martin; her daughter, Olivia Martin; a daughter, Andrea Martinez of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; his uncle, David Baker and family of Dayton, Ohio; and his aunt, Gloria Longo and family of Lake Worth, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Boy Scouts of America or the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
The Funeral will be Tuesday at Valhalla Funeral Home at 2:00pm. The visitation will be from 11:00am till 2:00pm at the funeral home. The interment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Please sign online registry atwww.valhallafunerals.com
