Douglas R. Olson, age 50, of Litchfield, died on Monday, December 18, 2006 at Meeker County Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 11:00 am at Beckville Lutheran Church with Pastor Marcia Hegna officiating.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Johnson Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.           
Douglas Robert Olson the son of  Robert and Evelyn Burress Olson was born on December 3, 1956 in Litchfield.  He grew up and received his education in Litchfield.  Douglas worked as a truck driver and for Poly Dome.  He had a passion for horses and enjoyed going to horse sales.  He also liked to ginseng hunt and go to Swan's Cafe for coffee with his buddies.  
Douglas is survived by his children Adam Olson of Dassel, Luke and CorrinaOlson of Anchorage, Alaska and Kelly and Brent Sharstrom of Hutchinson, granddaughter Brooke Sharstrom , mother and step father Evelyn and Richard Lemke of Litchfield, father Robert Olson of South Dakota, special friend Steph Johnson of Litchfield, brother Gary Olson and special friend Darlene Lambert of Litchfield and sister Carol Campas of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.  He is also survived by his uncles and aunts Forest and JoAnne Burress of Burnsville, Roy and Irene Burress of Longmont, Colorado, Ron Burress of Litchfield, Russell and Carol Burress of Ventura, Iowa and Dorothea Devine of Loogootee, Indiana, two step brothers Les and Mary Lemke of Watertown, South Dakota and Al and Char Lemke of Litchfield, 1 step sister Dawn and Jerry Weyrach of Litchfield besides other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Orville and Reba Burress and Art and Marie Olson, 3 uncles and 2 cousins and an aunt.
