Douglas Roy Allen, Jr., 67, of Ferebee Ave., Chesapeake, VA, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013, in his home. Born in Norfolk, VA, he was a retired Marine Pipe Fitter with Shop 56 from Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and South Norfolk Ruritan Club. Roy is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, JoAnne Rust Allen of Chesapeake, VA; two sons, Douglas R. Allen III and wife Michelle, and Chad Allen, both of Chesapeake, VA; a brother, Gene Allen and wife Brenda of Windsor, VA; and two grandchildren, Chris and Brian Allen of Chesapeake, VA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frankie; and a sister, Margaret. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel by Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
