Cruso, Doye Cagle, age 86, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Manson and Victoria Yarborough Cagle and was also preceded in death by his wife, Christine Fish Cagle, who died in 2000, and numerous brothers and sisters. A retiree of Haywood County, he worked at the recycle center in the Cruso Community. Doye enjoyed sitting on his porch visiting with his family and friends and was always taking in stray animals. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by two sons, Doye Cagle, Jr. of Lake Junaluska and Roy Cagle and his wife, Kathy Watson of Canton; three daughters, Judy Hall and her husband, Jack, of Lake Junaluska, Polly Henderson and her husband, Vince, of Clyde and Penny Cucumber and her husband, Clarence, of Canton; 11 grandchildren; and many great and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2009 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Josh Walls officiating. Entombment will follow at Crawford-Ray Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Doye's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to services.
