Dr. Joseph H. Nodurft, a native of Lyons, KS, and a resident of Diamondhead, MS, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at the age of 89. Dr. Nodurft, a retired anesthesiologist, started several anesthesia departments in West Virginia, Ohio,
Mississippi, and at West Jefferson Hospital in Louisiana. He served as an anesthesiologist in a MASH unit during the Korean War.
Memorial services will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be said at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass. Dr. Nodurft will be buried in Wheeling, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Annunciation Catholic Church, 5370 Kiln-Delisle Road, Kiln, MS 39556 or to the Wounded Warrior Project at https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
Dr. Nodurft is preceded in death by his parents Claude E. Nodurft of Lyons, KS, and Mary Pearl Olivier of Patouville, LA; siblings Claude H. (Tim) Nodurft; Ralph F. (Jim) Nodurft; Rosemary Nodurft Kirksey; Jean Nodurft; and son Stephen L. Nodurft. He is survived by siblings Phillip Nodurft of Wheeling, WV; Germaine (Gerry) N. Theroux of El Paso, TX; and Michael Nodurft of Carriere, MS; and his children Mark Nodurft,
Danny (Judy) Nodurft, Douglas (Kristi) Nodurft, Eric Joseph (Shandi) Nodurft, Fr. Joel (Reneé) Gillam, and daughter Mary Suzette Nodurft Fitzmorris (Mike); 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; and beloved companion Mary Gillam.
