Duane Frank Brown, age 69, of 7446 Mc Liver Drive, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563, passed away at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at his home following a brief illness. Duane was born on November 30, 1941, in South Bend, Indiana, to Lewis C. and Frances C. (Kolanda) Brown. Duane received his parochial education at St. Stanislaus B.M. Parish and graduated from Central Senior High School in 1959. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962 and was a true patriot. Duane was also highly proud of his Polish heritage and enjoyed family gatherings and reminiscing about Polish weddings and all the festivities. Duane retired from Allied Signal (Honeywell) in 1996 and spent his retirement years enjoying trips to the Blue Chip Casino, golfing, fishing, bird watching, and camping at the Beech Grove Campground in Marcellus, Michigan. Duane survived by his companion of 13 years, Pamela J. Schaefer-Mabry of Plymouth; Pam's mother, Martha A. Schaefer of Plymouth; his former wife, Carol Brown and their children, Susan M. (Jeff) Robinson of Dowagiac, Michigan, Janine (Troy) Deshone of Elkhart, Indiana, Duane Lewis Brown of Osceola, Indiana, Debbie F. (Shane) Duncan of Elkhart, Indiana, Eric E. (Tina) Brown of South Bend, Indiana, Amanda R. (Daniel) Kalmar of Elkhart, Indiana, and Sara A. (Mark) Million of Mishawaka, Indiana; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Duane was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jacquelyn M. Flowers; and his companion's father, Louis F. Schaefer. Memorial gifts many be given to the choice of the donor.
