Dwain L. Hansel, 52, of the 3000 block of Robinswood Court, Virginia Beach, VA, passed away January 3, 2012. Born October 20, 1959 in Confluence, PA, he was raised in Farmington, PA. He retired from the US Navy as a Chief and worked with Sonny's Mechanical as a Heating & Air Conditioning Technician. He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Hansel; three daughters, Elizabeth Thomas and husband Eric of Ashland, VA, Jennifer Frick of North Carolina and Nikki Parillo of Chicago, IL; a son, Jared Hansel of Virginia Beach, VA; a brother, Thomas E. Hansel and wife Karen of the Eastern Shore; his mother, Joan D. Hill; and two nieces, Alisa "Basketball Jones" Jones and Kristin Jones. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel with Pastor Les Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 1:30 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
