On November 5, 2011, surrounded by family, Dwight Andrew Cameron entered into rest after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was born September 11, 1949 in San Francisco, California. He was the second of six children born to Charles and Nancy Cameron. He attended St. John the Evangelist Grammar School and graduated from Balboa High School in 1967.

Early in life he found a career which suited his analytic sensibilities and worked as a mechanic and machinist throughout his life. He always showed up to any job, rain or shine, and was excited by new challenges these jobs would bring.

As passionate as he was about fixing just about anything presented to him, he was equally passionate about his hobbies. Dwight was a sport fisherman and spent many weekends on the water. He was adamant that no fish would be served in his home if it was store bought. He also was a home gardener and preferred to grow his own produce whenever possible. He was always so full of pride to provide organic fruit and vegetables to his family and friends and passed on his love of outdoors to his children and grandchildren.

He was a loving husband and best friend to Rebecca. A devoted father to Dwight Jr., Jonah(Mary) and Amanda(Sonny). An attentive grandfather to Evangeline, David, Isaac, Ariana, Andrew, Benjamin and Rebecca.
