I knew Doug about 16 years, mostly through the Lakewood Social Club. Doug and I both served as officers for many years and Doug was always a peace maker. We turned different rooms in his house into fair events. Doug really knew how to throw a party. I met some very interesting people at his parties.

Doug was a good man and one of a kind. I will never forget him and I will always miss him. There will never be another person like Doug.

I knew Doug for many years and always found him to be genuine and available for friendship. Already, I miss him.

I first met Doug in 1993 at a LSC party and knew immediately we were going to be friends for a long time.
I am thankful for a recent visit we had just by chance when we ran into each other at Starbucks. It was a beautiful summer day and I was out of school and not in a time crunch so we sat and visited for at least 2 hours. I will always be thankful for that chance encounter and the time we spent together that day and also for having known Doug.
Hope there is a Starbucks in heaven.

Knowing Doug was an inspiration to us all. Visiting with Doug was always a positive. Associating with Doug was always a pleasure. Doug became a part of everyones life that knew him. I'm sorry, but for once the picture is, if you put your hand in a bucket of water and remove your hand, the water refills the space. Not in Dougs case, there will always be a void where he once filled. We love you Doug and will miss you in our lives dearly.

Doug, you were in my "Top Five" of all time. Easily the most kind man I've had the pleasure to count as a friend. Always quick to put a positive spin on any situation. I will miss you.

Here's the candle I light for Doug. May it radiate Doug's spiritual presence with all of us who knew and loved him.

I especially remember a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico when I shared a house in the jungles South of town with Doug and his then partner, Bob Wright. We didn't have a car and had to depend upon the other people traveling in our party (but staying in town) to pick us up and

We didn't have a car and had to depend upon the other people traveling in our party (but staying in town) to pick us up and deliver us to whatever the group was doing downtown. Then one night we "hosted" a party for the entire group at this spacious jungle house which was a short distance from the beautiful Pacific. It's always difficult to say goodbye, but we all have our memories with us for a lifetime. Gone but certainly not forgotten. I know we'll meet again.
