Earnest W. Kuykendall, 82, of 152 Dead End Drive, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011.
Born in Oconee County, he was the son of the late William and Mary Golden Kuykendall.
Earnest served our country with the US Army, during the Korean War. He was a POW and received both the Silver Star and the Purple Heart.
He was self employed and of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Kuykendall; and his siblings, James Kuykendall; Mattie Edmonds; Lee Kuykendall; Mary Jane Shipman; and Monroe Kuykendall.
Surviving are his children, Frances Parks of Riverdale, GA; Dorothy Butler of Sylcaugua, AL; Diane Chambless of Childersburg, AL; Patricia Campbell of Liberty; Robert Kuykendall of Liberty; Charles Kuykendall of St. Louis, MO; and Billy Kuykendall; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 26, 2011 from 6 - 8pm at the funeral home.
