Edgar Preston McConnell, age 78 of Manassas, VA passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2013. He was born on March 10, 1935 son of the late Carl Hiram McConnell and Reo Tucker McConnell.

Mr. McConnell taught chemistry at McLean High School for 22 years; was a member of REACT, Inc and the President of the local chapter for over 20 years; was a volunteer at the Manassas Museum and enjoyed model railroading.

He is survived by his loving wife Judith McConnell; his children James Carl McConnell, Laura Melinda McConnell and Matthew Scott McConnell and by one brother Adair McConnell and 5 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 2-4 PM. A graveside service will be held at Sunrise Burial Park in Fairlawn, VA on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 12:00 Noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that a donation be made to either the Manassas Museum or Parkinson's Association.
