Edgar Raymond Carter, Jr. was born of the union of Gladys Shelby and Edgar Raymond Carter, Sr. on May 31, 1945 in Clarksville, Tennessee who preceded him in death. His faith journey began as a young child at Visitation Elementary School, where he received instructions, training and was nurtured in the Catholic Faith. Edgar continued his education in parochial schools until his high school years where he attended Saint Louis Public Schools. After graduating, Edgar enlisted and served in the United States Navy where he was honorably discharged. He was joined in Holy Matrimony in November of 1964 to Madeline Balle. This union was blessed with three children; Edna Denise, Gladys Renee' and Edgar Raymond, III. Edgar was a dedicated employee of the Ford Motor Company, where he was also a member of the United Auto Workers Union. He retired after 25 years of loyal service. Edgar was unceasingly diligent in his pursuit of knowledge, which included the areas of: Law, Psychology, Accounting and Business. He was a great conversationalist and loved to read. He had a passion and a profound love for playing the guitar and harmonica. Confident that Edgar's faith and acceptance of Christ as his personal Lord and Savior enables the surviving family and friends to celebrate the legacy of love and cherish his memories: He will be deeply missed by his four children, Denise, Donnie, Renee' and Raymond; eight grandchildren, India, Donnell, Maurice, Anthony, Cameron, Shaunice, Corey and Simone, two sisters, Rosie Lane and Jean Anthony; niece, Kim; nephews, Kevin and Anthony, and a host of other relatives and friends.
