Edgar Robert Martella
LEXINGTON - A funeral service for Edgar Robert Martella, 71, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012. The Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday following the visitation. The burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Serenity Gardens, 6601 Windwan Drive, Columbia.
Mr. Martella died Monday, March 5, 2012. Born on July 15, 1940 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Alexander Anthony and Virginia Florkevich Martella. Mr. Martella served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the South Carolina Boxing Commission. He owned and operated Eddie's Restaurant on Assembly Street, Columbia and was a member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church.
He is survived by a son, Anthony (Amber) Martella of Lexington; daughter, Alexis Lovell of Elgin; brother, Alex Martella of Chicago; grandchildren, Troy Lovell, Lindy Lovell, Courtney Lovell, Cheynne Lovell and Jacob Martella. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Martella and brother, Dane Martella.
