Ms. Edith Elias

Edith Petty Elias, 89, of Columbia, MO died June 4, 2011 at her home after a brief illness. She was born January 15, 1922 in Gillette, AR to Nancy Pearl Highland and Vines William Petty. As an adult, she lived Little Rock and moved to Memphis in 1956. She retired from the US Postal Service Regional Management Academy in Memphis as an administrative assistant in 1993. She enjoyed reading and gardening in retirement.
She is survived by her daughter Eve Elias and her husband Cliff Rufkahr of Columbia, MO her son David Elias and his wife Linda Elias of Knoxville, TN her granddaughter Audrey Elias of Memphis, her sister Dorothy Barker and niece Mary Louise Keith of Clinton, MS.
Visitation will be held at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home on Thursday June 9, 2011 at 9:00 am followed by interment at Pinecrest Memorial Park at 10:00 a.m. in Alexander, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
