Edith L. Ackerson Tescula, 88, of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Born April 4, 1923 in Keens, IL, Edith was a WWII U.S. Army Air Corps WAC Veteran. She and her husband, Remus owned Tescula Grocery. She was a member of United Faith Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Post 47. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Dauplaise; son, John N. Tescula, both of Fort Wayne; granddaughter, Melanie Dauplaise; sister, Lois Aussieker of Hoyleton, IL; and brothers, George Ackerson of Hamburg, IL and Benjamin (Beverly) Ackerson of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Remus; parents Walter and Emily Ackerson; and sisters, Mabel Mueth, Bernice Nafzinger, Ruth Wilson, Pauline Arment and Marie Boaz. "A special thanks from the family to all the staff at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home." Service is 11 am Monday, November 14, 2011 at United Faith Presbyterian Church, 1616 West Main Street with visitation one hour prior. Dr. Hal Thomas officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Sunday at D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
