Edmund L. Potter

Due to my mother's stroke, she asked me to add her comments for the family, which are below.
I too always felt that Edmund was a friend, although I saw him rarely. He was quite energetic and willing to help with family business and advice, which was always honest and sound.
Whenever I spoke with him, I was left with good feelings. He will be missed.

Ed was my very special cousin. Living in Gaffney, I did not see Ed as often as I wished, but I always knew he was there.
On many occasions I relied on Ed for advice because he was so trustworthy and most fair. He valued family, community, and the church. My life was enriched by his presence. I will miss him greatly.

I offer my sympathy to Ed's family. We worked together during many years at American Federal. He was one of several men who stayed the course with American Federal when popular wisdom said to run. We who benefitted from the uultimate success of American Federal owe a real debt of gratitude to Ed and the other real men who served faithfully on our board.

We are thankful for Ed's many significant contributions to Boy Scouting. I served as a professional scouter in the Blue Ridge Council from 1960 to 1973.
May God bless all of the family for Ed was a blessing to us.

Greenville has lost a great American and Southern Gentleman.

Ed was a 'regular' at 8 AM Holy Eucharist at Christ Church and sat next to my parents every Sunday.

I remember him fondly and especially his kind and gentle manner in meeting and greeting people. Ed was always the first person to send me a political contribution when I was in the General Assembly and I took great pride in 'announcing' that to anyone in our

So saddened by the passing of my Dad's childhood best friend, Edmund. I can hardly write this without tears.
Mr. Potter came to keep me company one morning 7am at the hospital several years ago when my Dad had some out patient something. I guess my Dad had told him I would be there alone. That meant the world to me and of course my Dad,

We share man happy memories, and cherish them. Ed was espeically helpful to the Sterlings when he and they lived in Hendersonville, and the Potters often baby sat for Jackie and Nancy.
Ed was a good friend who will be very much missed.
