Edna E. Mitchell
Greenville, SC

Edna Evangeline Mitchell, 94, formerly of Six Mile, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Magnolia Place in Greenville.

Born in Six Mile, she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Mozell Davis Mitchell.

Miss Mitchell was retired from the School District of Pickens County after teaching forty years. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Wesleyan Church in Six Mile where she was a former member of the Wesleyan Women and held many offices in the church.

Surviving are two brothers, Joseph Carlton Mitchell of Muskogee, OK and Charles Wesley Mitchell of Simpsonville; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and Elvin Kelley of Simpsonville; a sister-in-law, Mary Parker Mitchell of Six Mile; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Peek; two brothers, Dr. Virgil Allen Mitchell and Franklin Eugene Mitchell; a niece, Lynn Peek Powell and two nephews, Allen and Chuck Mitchell.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the employees of Magnolia Place and Providence Care for their loving care of Miss Mitchell.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Olivet Wesleyan Church, Attn: Miriam Gilstrap, 302 Mt. Olivet Rd., Six Mile, SC 29682.

The family will be at their respective homes.
