Edna Ina Filippi, born July 12, 1912 to the late GB and Louise Leonardini peacefully passed away on January 1, 2012. Edna (Eddy) was married for over 44 years to Joe Filippi Jr. who predeceased her in death in 1976. Eddy lived to a spirited 99 years in robust health and generous spirit. Her marriage to Joe was a true partnership, ahead of its time, and the two stood side by side to build a life in Stockton. They shared a passion for travel and golf and visited over 30 countries together.
Eddy was active in Stockton's community as a member of Liguria Nel Mundo, Lodi Italian Club, Italian Gardeners Society and Waterloo Gun and Bocci Club. Eddy was also a past member of Stockton and Elkhorn Country Clubs. Eddy had a zest for life and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, entertaining at her beach house and shopping. Eddy is survived by her two daughters, Joylyn Novacek (Ron) from Stockton and Diane Filippi-Hirsch (Ephraim) of San Francisco. Eddy was the loving grandmother to Bradd Novacek and Dayna Nielsen (David) and great grandmother (GG) to Joseph and Kendall Novacek and Taylor and Jack Nielsen. The family is especially grateful to Dora Jesus, her loving and devoted caregiver.
A private family service was held. The family suggests memorial contributions to Alzheimer Foundation for Research, 322 Eight Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001 or the charity of your choice. You may visit the on-line guest book at deyoungchapels.com
