Saratoga Springs- Edna M. Best-Miller passed away peacefully on February 16, 2012, at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs, New York.

Born in Fulton, NY, on January 5, 1919, she was a daughter of the late David and Eva House. Edna was employed for many years by the Fulton School System. She was active in her church, All Saints Episcopal, Eastern Star, National Campers and Hikers Association and other community activities.

She relocated to Florida with her late husband James C. Best in 1971, remarried upon his death to the late Edward Miller and returned to New York in 1998 to be with her two daughters.

Edna is predeceased by her parents, late husband's and her brother Fred House and sister Nellie Johnson.

Survivors include her daughter's Diane O'Brien of CA, Jean (Ron) Haskin of Mechanicville, NY, Elizabeth Schalk of Halfmoon, NY and her granddaughter's Shelly (Keith) Amato of Mechanicville, NY, Jennifer Schalk of Halfmoon, NY, her grandsons Charles (Gina) Herrier of OK, and Michael Herrier of CA along with her great-grandchildren Jason Herrier, Dakota Herrier, Cheyanne Herrier and Ben Amato.

There will be no calling hours and services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial gifts be made in her name to The Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York, 4 Pine West Plaze, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205.
