GRAFTON: Edna M. (Hanam) Putnam, 76, passed away August 30, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Her husband William H. Putnam passed away in 2002. Edna is survived by her son Kenneth Putnam and his wife Ann and son David Putnam, her three daughters Judith Grenier and her husband Allen, Kathleen Ferraro and her husband Flavio and Nancy Conley and her husband Michael, her grandchildren Melinda and Daniel Grenier, Kerry Obrzut, Kenny, Katie, William and Jeremiah Putnam, Samantha Welch, Julie Lavoie, and Shane and Jessica Conley, her great-grandchildren Blake Burr, Emily Grenier, Mikayla and Cody Putnam. She also leaves her special cat Howard. Edna was born October 25, 1934 in Worcester, daughter of the late Martha (Penny) and William Hanam and was one of thirteen children. She leaves her twin brother Edward Hanam and his wife Susan. She also leaves her sister Eleanor Gregoire and her brothers Francis Hanam, his wife June, and Russell Hanam, and his wife Irene. She leaves her brother in laws William White, Raymond Nydam and sister in laws Jean Hanam, Betty Putnam, and Joyce Putnam. She also leaves her brother in law John Putnam, his wife Esther and sister-in-law Nancy Lemay and her husband Albert. Edna's brothers William, Raymond, and Gerald Hanam and sisters Caroline Bolton, Betty Dunphe, Marion White, Shirley Latino, Jean Mossey and daughter in law Charlene Putnam all predeceased her. Edna graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester and earned her Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy. She worked for twenty years for the state with the mentally challenged. Family was always her center as she cherished her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For many years Edna was a "snowbird" having spent winters with many friends in St. Petersburg, FL. She also was an avid Red Sox Fan even though her twin roots for the Yankees and she was also a dedicated Patriots fan. She enjoyed line dancing, knitting and crocheting, and many friends will remember her bowling as "Mr. Ed". She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers her family requests memorial contributions to The American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701 or online at www.Cancer.org. CALLING HOURS & FUNERAL MASS All are invited to calling hours for Edna Thursday September 1st from 5pm to 8pm at RONEY FUNERAL HOME 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton MA 01536. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Edna Friday September 2nd at 11:00am at St. Philip's Church 12 West St. Grafton MA 01519.
