Edward A. Richardson passed away Wednesday morning April 6, 2011. Ed was born October 13, 1926 in Auburn, Geauga Co., Ohio. He was raised there during the depression era but always said that he grew up during the best of times. Ed moved his family to Jackson Twp. In the early 60's and has made this his home. Ed attended Ohio State University and several business colleges in Cleveland. His working career was in accounting and he retired in 1991 from Orville Leather. He served in the 779 Armor division at Fort Knox during the Korean Conflict. Ed loved home and family. He got great pleasure out of working in his yard, doing home improvement jobs, and playing golf with his wife and dear friend Gerald "Scotty" Scott. Ed was an outgoing and gregarious person who loved to talk with people and make them his friend, but most of all was his love of family. Ed was preceded in death by his parents John and Mae Richardson; twin brother, Edwin; sister, Dorothy Cross and many dear friends. He is survived by his loving wife Kandace, who would have celebrated 23 years of marriage with him this summer. Also surviving are his devoted children and grandchildren: Janine and John Poulos of Canton; Edward and Ann Richardson of Bolivar; Elizabeth and Ric Slanczka of Missouri; step-children Michelle and Neal Dickerhoof of Strasburg; David Booth of Uhrichsville; 4 grandsons, Andrew Richardson, Evan, Ryan and Kelland Slanczka; 2 granddaughters, Amanda and Olivia Richardson; and 1 step-daughter, Gabryelle Atkinson. Ed will be sadly missed, always loved, and very fondly remembered by his family and many who knew him. Reed Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. A graveside service will be held at a later date for immediate family.
