Edward "Bobbie" Ellis of 85 Wyatt St. departed this life on Monday, May 24, 2010. A life long resident of Asheville he was a son of the late Herbert and Elnora Hunt Ellis. He retired from Gerber Products after more than 20 years of employment. Surviving are his wife, Brenda Dean Gibson Ellis; daughters, Sheronda M. Ellis (Todd) of Hampton, GA and Robin L. Ellis Tyson (Larry) of Charlotte; sisters, Faye Reynolds (Tommy) and Deborah Downie (David) of Asheville; brothers, Herbert Ellis, Walter Ellis (Bessie), Cordell Ellis and Jefferson Ellis (Veronica) of Asheville; grandchildren, Christopher and Monique; sisters-in-law, Johneicie, Cynthia, Hollis (Pearce), Sherron and Wanda; brother in law, James Gibson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be held Friday at 4 p.m. in Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member and sang with the Senior Choir. Minister Charles Martin, Jr. will officiate, burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence. Arrangements are under the direction of Hart Funeral Service.
