Edward J. Masterson, Jr., 88, died April 25, 2010 at his home. He was the loving husband of Frances (White) Masterson. Edward was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 28, 1921 to the late Edward J., Sr. and Margaret (Mansell) Masterson. An American Legion Award winner, he graduated from Roman Catholic High School Class of '39 and LaSalle College Class of '43 where he attended on a basketball scholarship. Edward served his country with the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII achieving the rank of Tech 4th grade. After the war, he played semi-professional basketball in the Eastern Basketball League for Reading and Lancaster. He worked for Columbia Records as a Salesman eventually becoming Branch Manager of the Boston and Philadelphia offices. He loved all sports and enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by his son: Edward J. Masterson III (Kathryn) of Ambler; grandchildren: Edward J. IV and Molly Masterson and Christina and Brian Schneider of Ambler; 1 sister Margaret Antosek of Salisbury, N.C. He was predeceased by 2 sisters: Eileen Antosek and Frances Branigan. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Crossroads Hospice, 300 Lakeside Drive, Suite 120, Horsham, PA 19044.
