HALIFAX- Edward Jay Maiden, age 68, of 175-A Rummel Road passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Harrisburg, PA the son of the late Marlin and Regina Messner Maiden. Ed was a US Army veteran of Vietnam War and while in the Army worked part time at the Atlantic Research division of Wells Industries. He started working at the American Bridge division of US Steel and then worked at AMP for 38 years before his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Enterline and the Williamstown American Legion. Survivors include his wife Mary Miller Maiden, a sister Earla Dragon of Youngstown, FL, nieces, nephews and his feline family at home. He was preceded in death by a brother Marlin, Jr. The family will receive friends on Monday Jan. 9 from 9-11 am at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home in Millersburg. A memorial service will begin at 11 am with Rev. Michael Petresky officiating. Inurnment with military honors will be held on Tuesday Jan. 10 at 11 am at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
