Edward M. Negersmith of Chester, NY a retired manger of export control for Bayer Diagnostic, Tarrytown, NY, entered into rest on February 11, 2013 in Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY. He was 73.

The son of the late Edward G. Negersmith & Dorothy Gallagher Negersmith, he was born February 12, 1939 in Mount Vernon, NY.

He was a past president of the Chester Ambulance Corps., where he implemented the first CPR program. He was also a Charter Member of St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church and President of Oblast Memorials. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Lubomira Hill Negersmith; Daughter, Christina Kensell & husband Timothy; Son, Daniel & wife Kelly; Son, Stephen & wife Gina; Son, Mark & wife Bethany; Son, Paul & wife Caroline. Ten grandchildren; Chloe, Timothy & Andrew Kensell, Dakota, Desirae, Nicholas, Matthew, Alexander, Abigail & Olivia Negersmith. Brother, Kent Negersmith & wife Colleen; Sister, Mary Wreden & husband Walter. And several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 15th from 2-4 & 7-9PM at the T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921.

Funeral Mass will be held 10:00AM Saturday, February 16th at St. Joseph Church, 20 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921.

Burial will be in Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Campbell Hall, NY.
