Edward W. Tieman, Jr., age 86 of Warrensburg, Missouri, formerly of Corder, Missouri died on Sunday, May 22, 2011, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.
Born Sunday, April 5, 1925 in Corder, he was the son of Edward William Tieman, Sr. & Lena Marie Hinck Tieman. He married Jewell M. Pregge September 6, 1953. She preceded him in death October 17, 2006. Also preceded in death are his parents & one sister, Alberta Kronsbein.
Edward was a lifetime member of the Corder V.F.W. Post 4288, a member of the Corder Lions Club & a former director of the Corder Bank. He was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Corder.
He worked as a self-employed farmer, retiring in 2000. He lived in Corder most of his life, moving to Warrensburg in 2010. Edward served in the Army, a veteran of the Korean War, ranking Corporal. .
Surviving are one son, Rahn (Gail) Tieman of Lees Summit, Missouri; one daughter, Candice (Paul) Lee of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Kenneth (Elaine) Tieman of Corder; two sisters, Arleen (Milburn) Miesner of Sedalia, Missouri, Delpha (Robert) Kessler of Flower Mound, Texas; & three grand children, Nikolaus Lee, Alyssa Lee & Rebecca Tieman.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 500 N. Elizabeth, Corder with Pastor Marcus Jauss officiating, Mary Frerking organist, & Joyce Keasey as vocalist. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the church.
Intermet will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville following the service Friday.
