Efren Estrella Gonzales passed away peacefully at the age of 60. Born in the city of Manila, Efren was the 4th to the oldest of his eight siblings. Efren arrived in America in 1971 with goals to start a new life. He met a beautiful young lady by the name of Jocelyn Sayao in 1973. Eventually, love overcame them and they married in December of 1980.

Efren was known to most as "Boy," but to his children he was known as "Dad." He is survived by his wife Jocelyn, his daughter-in-law Jeliza and his three children. Omar, Derrick and Melissa. Efren was a man who always put his family first. He loved to cook for them even if nobody was hungry. He always worried about his kids to come home even only if it was 6pm. Very strict, stern and stubborn, he was just being "Dad." This was his way of showing he cared. This was the only way he knew how to be.

Diagnosed with leukemia in December of 2010, he knew he had to be strong. He fought every day for seven months for his family until the end. July 5th of 2011 was his day to meet with God, and surely he is now with Him.

Boy will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Although he is no longer in our presence, he will live on through loving memories he left behind.
