Elaine G. Stienkemeyer, 82, of Hot Springs, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at a local hospital. Born February 19, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Frederick William and Nora Grace Huff Erbe, she was past president of the National PTA; past state president of Illinois PTA, Missouri PTA and Michigan PTA; member of the United States National Commission for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Charles Stienkemeyer, Sr.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and William Turner of Arlington, Texas; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Lawrence and Connie Stienkemeyer of Stratford, Connecticut , Charles and Alice Stienkemeyer of Grapevine, Texas and Kurt Stienkemeyer of Bridgeport, Connecticut; three granddaughters, Lauren Elaine Turner of Edna, Texas, Marci Marie Stienkemeyer and Lisa Charlene Stienkemeyer, both of Grapevine, Texas.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2009 at Gross Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend C. B. Baker officiating.
