She was born on September 1, 1920 in Marquette, a daughter of the late John and Lillie (Trombley) Cote, and was a lifelong area resident. Ellie greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and watching the game shows on television. Above all else, she was a devoted and awesome grandmother and took great pride in her grandchildrens and great-grandchildrens accomplishments. She was very devout in her faith and was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, as well as a long-time member of its Altar Society. She was a former member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She is survived by her three children, Francella (Timothy C.) Quinnell and Debra Haines, both of Marquette, Peter LeMay of Sanford, NC; three grandsons, David (Jennifer) Quinnell, Zachary (Katie) Quinnell, and Nicholas Quinnell and his fiancé, Mallory Smith. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Teddy, Timmy, Jack, Brady and Lily Quinnell; one sister, Virginia (Howard) Hurley of Tecumseh, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death besides her parents were her husband, Francis LeMay in 1973 and three brothers, Phillip, Robert and Leo Cote. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 12 noon in St. Michaels Catholic Church with the Rev. Larry VanDamme officiating. Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the Mass. Interment will take place in the Park Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank Dr. Daniel Hardie and the staff of the Norlite Nursing Center for their loving care of Ellie. It will never be forgotten. Ellie loved flowers of all kinds.
