Elizabeth A. 'Betty' Shepler, 77, of Belle Vernon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, in her home. A daughter of the late Edward and Mary Pokorny Nolfi, she was born on July 15, 1935. Betty was protestant by faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and she loved her flowers. Betty worked at the former Hill's Department Store, the former G.C. Murphy's as an office manager, and ITS Telemarketing. In her high school years, she was a majorette with the Monessen High School Marching Band, class of 1953. She is survived by her husband, Jon C. 'Jack' Shepler; her son, Jackie 'Jack' Scott Shepler, of Belle Vernon; her daughter, Sherrill Shepler and her husband, Tom Platts, of Whitehall; her grandson, Jon A. Shepler and his wife, Jennifer, of Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Anthony Jon 'AJ' and Caroline Shepler, both of Ohio and one aunt, Elizabeth 'Lizzy' Defobis of Pottstown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rosemary Migliori. There will be no public visitation or funeral service.
