Elizabeth Anne Wells of Vancouver, WA peacefully passed away in her beloved home on Monday, May 23, 2011. Shortly after her passing, a beautiful full double rainbow was observed immediately above her home. In the company of those closest to her, Elizabeth chose to live her last days in the serenity of her home and garden. Elizabeth was born in Berea, Ohio to Richard David Wells and Patricia Anne Wells Doherty. She received her Masters of Arts in English Literature, Language, Composition, and Irish Literature; a Bachelor of Arts in English; with minors in Social Science and Education from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. Throughout her life, Elizabeth was an avid reader, talented writer, educator, and technical writer. Among her many facets, Elizabeth was a passionate outdoor enthusiast. As a member of the Mazamas, she cherished her mountain climbing and hiking experiences. As a shier she instructed those wanting to master cross county skiing. For the past many years she has been a talented quilter. One of her quilts was on display at the Public Library in Camas, Washington. Her two older brothers George J. and David C. Wells, survive her in this life. Elizabeth's unrelenting zest for life and her kind and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew her. "May if be said about me (Elizabeth): she kept a lovely garden, brewed a fair cup of coffee, poured a decent whiskey, talked to birds, was good to dogs, and always has an ear for a story". In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Southwest Washington Humane Society, or the Audubon Society of Portland, OR.
