Elizabeth "Betty" Villa - 87, passed away December 22, 2012 at her home surrounded by her children. Betty was born August 25, 1925 in Menlo Park, CA to Ethel Morton and Elmer "Mike" Hara. She attended Menlo Park schools and graduated from Sequoia High School. She was active in all school sports and even went on to play Semi pro softball for Sherry All Stars.
Betty married in August 1943 to Lewis "Bud" Villa in Redwood City. They had three children, Judy, Pete and Ray. They eventually settled in Tunitas Canyon in
Half Moon Bay where they lived for 49 years. She enjoyed brandings, camping, hunting, fishing, horseshoe's, dancing and hosting family gatherings. She was
most proud of her annual tamale Christmas Eve open house. She was loved and respected by her family and many, many friends.
She is survived by her three children, Judy Centoni, Pete Villa (Mary) Ray Villa (Phyllis), 8 grandchildren, Mike Ekis, Sheila Ekis, Jimmy Centoni (Melanie) Billy
Centoni, Gina Villa, Christy Sarabia (Steve), David Villa (Samantha), and Karen Villa (deceased), as well as 10 great-grandchildren. She also leaves a sister
Alice Carrerow (Al) of San Jose and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Villa in 1999.
Friends are invited to attend a viewing on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at Miller-Dutra Coastside Chapel, 645 Kelly Avenue in Half Moon Bay.
Blessing Service will be at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel with interment immediately following at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo.
