Mrs. Elizabeth E. "Libby" (Garner) Myers, 87, of 13935 Gardner Ave., Waynesboro, died at 10:10 P.M., Thursday, February 2, 2012, in the Waynesboro Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past year. Born June 24, 1924 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Kathryn Elizabeth (Eyler) Garner. She lived most of her life in the Waynesboro area. Mrs. Myers graduated from Waynesboro High School with the class of 1942. She and her husband, the late J. Lester Myers, were married on October 25, 1984. They have lived on Gardner Ave. since the marriage. Mr. Myers died on March 7, 2006. Following her graduation from high school, Mrs. Myers worked at Landis Machine Company, Waynesboro, as an electrical typist. She later worked at the Austin Hill Mill Outlet Store as a clerk. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, where she served as an usher, greeter, and on the administration board. She was also a member of the Cheerful Givers Sunday School class, where she served as class president and secretary. She was a former choir member at the church and sang with the Gospelaires Double Quartet. In addition to her involvement at the church, she was a member of the South Chapter AARP #2977 and the National AARP. Mrs. Myers enjoyed traveling. She is survived by two step-daughters, Janet E. Myers and Jean M. Ingels and her husband Ed, all of Waynesboro; six step-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Kathleen Garner. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 6, 2012, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Rev. Mark Shover, officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Monday morning, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Faith United Methodist Church Parking Lot Fund, 104 North Potomac Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
