Elizabeth "Lib" Shipman, 71, of 559 Beaumont Avenue, went home to be with Jesus, her Savior, on Saturday, August 11, 2007, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born December 13, 1935, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late George C. and Carrie Moore Thomas. She was a retired textile worker and a former employee of Roebuck Plastics. Mrs. Shipman was a home-bound member of First Baptist Church Spartanburg and an avid member of the cardiac group at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include her companion, William L. "Bill" Sumner of Spartanburg; a brother, Clifford T. Thomas and Elaine of Roebuck; a sister, Juanita "Marlene" T. Sosbee and her husband Kenneth of Spartanburg; one nephew; and one niece.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2007, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2007, at Sunset Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. Jim Johnston and the Rev. Johnny Jones.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, Attn: SRHS Foundation Office, 101 East Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
