Elizabeth "Betty" (Gotchis) Uterstaedt, 69, of Newington, died on Friday, July 30, 2010. She was the beloved wife of Wayne Uterstaedt for 48 years. Born and raised in New Britain, daughter of the late George and Mabel (Corcoran) Gotchis, she lived in Newington for the past 40 years. Betty loved country line dancing with the Newington Seniors and was a member of the Hartford Liederkranz and the Red Hats. A loving and devoted mother, she leaves her three children and their spouses, George and Debbie Uterstaedt, Joanne and Paul Knox, and Laura and Charles Accatino and six grandchildren Jacob and Jared Uterstaedt, Jodie and Matthew Knox, and Evan and Brooke Accatino all of Newington. She was predeceased by her son Richard Uterstaedt. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington.
