Mrs. Ella Theresa (Pryor) Miraglia Baer, age 86, of 508 Clayton Avenue, Waynesboro, PA, went to be with her Lord February 3, 2012. She had been in failing health for several years. She formerly was a resident of 15 Myrtle Avenue, Waynesboro. Mrs. Baer was born November 12, 1925, in Corona, Long Island, New York, the daughter of the late Adam Miraglia and Mary (Pryor) Miraglia. Her early years were spent in Little Cove, near Mercersburg, PA, where she attended Piety School, a one-room schoolhouse. She spent the remainder of her life as a resident of Waynesboro, PA. Mrs. Baer graduated from the Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1943. After graduation she worked as a telephone operator for the local phone company, and worked in the Drafting Department of Landis Tool Company. She also worked in the office at Miller's Furniture Store. For 30 years she was employed at the Letterkenny Army Depot. She began in the Safety Department and later became Letterkenny's first female Occupational Safety and Health Technician, retiring in 1986. During her time at Letterkenny, she received many superior and outstanding performance awards. Mrs. Baer enjoyed her family, spending time at the shore, loved animals, liked to crochet, and play games and cards. At the time of her death she was a member of Jacobs Church, Blue Ridge Summit. She was formerly a member of the Ringgold Church of Christ, and the First Christian Church, Waynesboro. She is survived by daughter Phyllis (Penny) Baer Helm and husband Ralph (Ted) Helm of Waynesboro; three grandchildren, John P. Helm and wife Pamela of Waynesboro, Michael T. Helm and wife Michele of Waynesboro, and Tammy T. Helm of Glen Rock; four great-grandchildren, Jennifer A. Helm, Micaiah N. Helm, Marshall R. Helm, and Timothy J. Flavin of Waynesboro; and a very close cousin Sarah Jane Pryor of Shippensburg. Services will be held Tuesday, February 7, at 11:00 AM, in the Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Richard Daughtridge officiating. Burial will be in Ringgold Cemetery, Ringgold, MD. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, Tuesday morning, in the funeral home.
