Elmer "Junie" Cole, Jr., 92 of Hackettstown, NJ formerly of Belvidere, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. Born on December 13, 1919 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Elmer Sr. and Minnie Hornbaker Cole. Mr. Cole had been an insurance agent for the Baltimore Life Insurance Company. Mr. Cole had served in the Army during WWII in the 6th Armored Infantry Battalion as a radio operator. Mr. Cole was a member of the American Legion, Post 131, Belvidere, NJ. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the former Belvidere Golf Club. He also had enjoyed bowling. Junie was also active with the Belvidere Nutrition Center. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Beatrice Williams Cole, who died in 1991; three brothers, Samuel, William and Leo. Surviving are a daughter, Vicki Cole of Ventnor, NJ; a sister-in-law, Katherine Cole; his companion, Barbara Englemohr. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be made in his memory to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, NJ 07863.
